These days all it takes is a simple walk into your local pharmacy to see that there are literally hundreds of kinds of body lotion and creams on the market. With so many choices, it can be hard to determine which one is truly the best for you. There are different scents, different colors, and most importantly, different ingredients in almost every bottle. Let's spend a moment examining what is in most of these products and what it is you should be looking for that is likely not to be found in any of them.

A look at the majority of food commercials right now will show you that America is rapidly leaning toward an all-natural approach to food. While this is an excellent decision, the same approach needs to be taken when it comes to skin care products. The very chemicals that make our current selection of body creams smell delicious are actually responsible for drying out our skin as well as making it vulnerable to breakouts and infections. The chemicals in these products are also being discovered to be contributing to growing instances of depression, stress, and even some forms of cancer. There is a good reason for this, and learning it just might be enough to convince you to take a long look at the skin care products you use.

If someone handed you a glass of petroleum, rubbing alcohol, weed killer, and coal tar, would you drink it? The truth is that it is likely that you already do. These are only a few of the ingredients commonly found in small to moderate amounts in skin care products. When you put these ingredients on your skin, they are absorbed. What you may not know is that they are not just absorbed into the skin, but into the bloodstream as well. Any chemical you allow to enter your pores gets into your body just as much as if you drank it. This makes you think a little differently about your body lotion and creams, doesn't it?

What the mainstream once wrote off as a hippie point of view is now being discovered to be incredibly factual. The good news is that there are body creams on the market that do not contain chemicals or synthetic materials. These products, while decidedly not very pleasant tasting, are completely safe whether you put them on your skin or put them directly into your system. This is the mark of a truly safe product.

In addition, there are all natural skin creams that contain only minerals and ingredients that are research proven to moisturize the skin and combat the effects of aging. While pricier than the bargain bin items at your local discount store, these creams and lotions are comparable to high end department store products and are far safer and more effective. It is certainly a price worth paying when you see that you no longer have to keep spending money on products that simply do not work.

When choosing a body cream, don't simply buy the first natural or expensive product you see. Look into the ingredients and make sure that they are active and come from natural sources, such as plants or minerals. In addition, look into the company that makes the product. A reputable company will always be honest about their ingredients and how they know their product will work for you. Check their website and make sure that there is someone you can call if you have questions. A reputable company will feel no reason to hide from their customers.

Another way to be sure you can trust a company is if they offer a money back guarantee or do something to show you that they have complete faith in their research and their product. It is not hard to find the best body lotion and creams if you know where to look, so go ahead, and start on the path to healthy skin and a healthier body today!
