The purpose of ratings on skin care products is to let other consumers know about your experience and knowledge about the products. Ratings not only indicate what is good about the product, but they can also alert you to information on possible adverse reactions, lack of effectiveness, or other problems with the products.

The ratings will also tell the manufacturer the level of customer satisfaction as well as their dissatisfaction. Keep in mind that the same product may work well with your parents or anyone of your siblings, but may not work well for you. You may have to try a number of products before you find the right one. The effort is worth it though.

Some manufacturers put so much into packaging, advertising, and over-all marketing techniques. In rushing the product out to you and me, it may not be as well researched as it should be, and this is important to be certain of its safety and its effectiveness. This can have an effect on the ratings on skin care products.

We are constantly being told to read labels to know what it is you are putting in your body. Yes you need to know what is in skin care products as well. As with any product, there are beneficial ingredients as well as detrimental ingredients.

Effective skin care products should have three active ingredients that combined makes the strongest compound available for reducing signs of aging. Cynergy TK is a relatively new substance that helps the body to re-grow its collagen and elastin. Phytessence Wakame (kelp from the Japanese Sea) effectively blocks a toxic enzyme called Hyaluronidase. This enzyme destroys the skins natural Hyaluronic acid without which the collagen and elastin fibers will breakdown causing wrinkling and dark circles below the eyes.

CoQ10 in itself cannot penetrate the skin. The nano-emulsified form called Nano-Lipobelle is a powerful antioxidant (substance that fights free radicals). It can penetrate the skin easily up to 7 layers deep.

Cynergy TK is a new substance that helps your body to start reproducing its own collagen and elastin. This helps your skin to stay firm and flexible. It may be effective in retaining the skins much needed moisture.

Harmful ingredients include parabens and dioxane, both of which are known to be carcinogenic. Alcohols will dry the skin and mineral oil prevents the skin from "breathing" and with long term use - will dry out your skin and wrinkles and lines will develop. Mineral oil may be listed as Paraffins, Paraffin wax and petrolatum on the product label.

If you are doing ratings on skin care products you would go by your own experience. You could rate the product based on its ingredients and the results you get from using it, good or bad. Your skin is the largest organ in your body and must be cared for to remain smooth, firm and flexible.
