Many customers of MyBinding.com have concerns about the different varieties of GBC Velobind Binding Strips that they can choose from. There are actually four different kinds available, and many customers don’t know the difference between them. The four types of GBC Velobind Binding Strips include the following:
4 Pin Re-closeable Velobind
One of the most common Velobind strips is the 4 Pin Re-closeable Velobind strip. They are compatible with GBC Velobind V110e and Velobind V50 punch machines (although the latter is discontinued). The surplus of the comb simply snaps into the back of the receiving strip, making it very simple to edit books and documents later on in the process. The 4 Pin Velobind strips provide the look and feel of GBC Velobind, but they allow people to continue using their old machines.
6 Pin Re-closeable Velobind
These strips were designed to be used with the GBC Personal Velobind System, which is now discontinued. The 6 pin system consists of a comb with six small pins, each of which snaps into the receiving strip.
Velobind Hot Knife (11 Pin)
The commonly used 11 pin hot knife strips are compatible with the Velobind System One, Velobind System Two and Velobind System Three Pro. The machine simply takes the comb and rivets it to the receiving strip with heat, providing a permanent and secure bind that looks professional and permanent. They come in a variety of colors and lengths, ranging from 8.5” to 14” for legal sized binding.
Velobind One Eleven Strips
The GBC One Eleven Velobind Strips are compatible with the One Eleven 111 Velobinder, and they have unique serrated binding prongs for the most permanent and secure bind. They are only available in black, though, and in two different sizes.
GBC also makes SureBind strips that function just like the Velobind 11 Pin Hot Knife strips, but have ten pins that are designed to line up with the comb binding pattern.
