People have been complaining on the rising price of gasoline and even the economy's poor performance. There is also the problem about global warming which has a disturbing effect on the environment. This brings people to thinking on a new type of vehicle. That promises lesser consumption on gasoline and will contribute lesser carbon emissions that are contributing to global warming.

The hybrid cars could be the answer to the dilemma. These vehicles have two types of engine. The first is using the traditional gasoline and the other one is the electric engine which uses batteries to store the power. An advantage is that you are able to save money. In a year millions of dollars are wasted on gasoline because of cars that are running idle. So, if you do have a fuel efficient car, this will save you money.

In the past, hybrid cars weren't really very popular as it was required to be plugged in to an electric outlet to charge the batteries that runs the electric motor. However, thanks to the advancement of technology and more advanced batteries, latest hybrid car models no longer needed to be plugged in. When the batteries are getting discharged, the onboard computer will be able to detect it and automatically switch to running the gasoline engine.

Another advantage of using hybrid cars is that it will contribute to a cleaner environment. In fact, hybrid cars put off 90 percent less of the toxic fumes compared to the traditional car. Because hybrid vehicles are not using a lot of gas which then means that it will emit less toxic fumes. As you can see, this kind of vehicle doesn't only provide us with outstanding fuel economy, but it will also provide us with a way to reduce pollutants that is known to contribute to global warming.

Because hybrid vehicles contribute to a cleaner environment as well as fuel economy, the government is also providing great tax incentives for hybrid car owners. So, you just won't enjoy saving money on gas, but you will also be able to save money on taxes.

The only real disadvantage of these hybrid cars will be the price because it will be more expensive than your conventional vehicle. On average, you will be paying about five thousand dollars more for a hybrid car. But, think about the savings that you would be getting with a hybrid vehicle because you will see that it will be a lot cheaper than conventional vehicles in the long run. Hybrid cars lives up to its promise on providing a fuel efficient car and also a car that can contribute to a cleaner environment.
